I really never strayed from my Second Wave feminism. What’s new is my recent discovery of how far post-modernist society had moved away from ME. As to my daughter, she has stopped plugging her figurative ears and screaming “la-la-la I can’t hear you!” But she’s still trying to “pass” and when I ask, she says she still wants to take “T.” I’m hoping the links I send her and the brief conversations we have are slowly making an impact. But it’s like water drip-drip-dripping on granite. Still, the Grand Canyon was carved by the slow, steady impact of water, so I haven’t given up all hope.
The Internet, particularly YouTube, is a relentless influence. I’ve read countless stories from seemingly happy FTMs, as well as those who have detransitioned, and most credit YouTube transition video blogs with convincing them to join the transgender trend.
