homo/lesbophobia is absolutely as prominent amongst straight/bi radical feminists as it is elsewhere in feminist circles. your analysis is not a "get out of privilege free" card, nor does it make you any more prone to actually listening to lesbians and our concerns. there is a good reason why most radical-minded lesbians on tumblr do not consider themselves radical feminists, even though most of them once did.
I’d like to hear more on this from others. The real point of my post was not to avoid criticism or deny issues or pain, but to say that kneejerk assumptions are sometimes made about whether someone is friend or foe based strictly on sexual orientation. I’ve written a few posts specifically pointing out lesbophobia in the queer community and I’m surprised to hear you say the problem is just as bad in gender/trans critical circles. Do others agree?
