it makes me genuinely sad when i see such cool, passionate, and intelligent women being caught up in gender theory. these women could be such radical activists if they gave this up.

Because it’s a misguided way of escaping from the gender roles that are expected of you according to you sex. You also can’t choose a gender because gender (roles) aren’t chosen it is something you are socialised into. Gender non conforming males are not worse of than gender non conforming women or women in general to say otherwise is sexist. Do you understand the issue?

So…. this is an issue because people are drifting from their gender-designated societal role? Doesn’t that mean you support gender roles? I’m confused.

Except they aren’t breaking down gender roles the are reinforcing them. They are taking on the gender roles of the opposite sex and claiming that make them men or women. A man wearing a dress is breaking gender roles but a man wearing a dress claiming he’s really a woman is not breaking gender roles he’s reinforcing them. To claim transgenderism is breaking gender roles is a superficial analysis. Gender is a patriarchal construct designed to keep women subordinate and men dominant (patriarchy). Go look up the definition of sex and gender on the world health organisation’s website. It states the correct definition of the terms and has some examples of how gender functions.

Males are not entitled to calling themselves women or claim to have our experiences or be in feminism. That’s male entitlement which does not go away by identifying. Have you really not noticed how transwomen behave? How sexist and domineering they are in the feminist movement? How they make sexist and illogical claims (like saying the term female genital mutilation is ‘cissexist’ and many other stupid claims).

Also I can’t take you seriously if you tag this ‘terf’ it is a sexist and silly term so stop using it. Feminism is for women (female people) and we don’t owe male people anything. Women are not care takers we are not obliged to include male people in our movement no matter how they identify.

If gender can’t actually be changed, and gender roles exist, doesn’t that mean that a man not fulfilling his role as a man is actually breaking gender roles?

You either have to agree that he is a she and conforming with/reinforcing gender roles (and by extension - welcomed into your women only feminism if she so chooses to identify as such), or that he is breaking from his gender role as a man not acting like a man. You can’t just say no to both, that makes no logical sense.

Terf as far as I know stands for trans exclusionary radical feminism, as you are a self identified radical feminist, and do not appear to accept transgender people in your version of feminist, you are in fact a trans exclusionary radical feminist. That’s long, so I just say terf. What’s wrong with that? How is that possibly sexist?

men who “act like women” are breaking down gender norms. i have a friend here on tumblr who is male, but chooses to wear makeup and not act “masculine.” that is a breakdown of gender norms, because society tells him he should not act in this way. he does not identify as a woman. 

if he did, then that would be enforcing gender stereotypes because that would imply that if you like to wear makeup, that means you must really be a woman. conversely, that implies that women who do not choose to wear makeup are not really women. 

i’m not gonna touch the terf argument because that’s exhausting and i’m not in the mood, but does the above make sense?
