To the haters spamming my inbox

You’ll excuse me if I ignore you while I continue to focus on protecting my child and others like her from you, the exact same type of online bullies and zealots who are pressuring kids to transition. You prove my point beautifully.

How many times do I have to say this? You know nothing about me, my family, my child, how any of us feel or where we are in this process. You prop me up for target practice because you can’t stand to hear anyone questioning your assumptions. It’s beyond easy to sling arrows at a stranger online. The real work is relating to people in your own life.

To people who write to me–with criticisms or not–as one decent human being to another, thank you. I’ve got a backlog and will reply when I can. I don’t have time to keep answering the same questions, though, so if you have time, you’ll find responses to most of your comments and questions in my longer blog pieces. I’m also planning more posts on transgender research, media coverage of transgender issues, and medical fads/fashions in the 20th century. I welcome constructive suggestions.

A lot of people are concerned about teen suicide, and they should be. I wrote a long piece on this last month. You can find it here.
