This may be long but I'm confused. So I found your blog today but the link I had was one meant to encourage others to send hate. I read through a bit and I can see that you've made huge efforts to educate yourself on Transgender people, and the community. Which I applaud but may not agree. Yes, I know that people who identify as transgender have a variety of sexual preferences –i.e, they can identify as straight, gay, bi, what have you. I think what you are responding to here is the research I’ve repeatedly cited showing that the vast majority of kids (75-95% depending on study) who say they are the opposite sex in childhood, or who have dysphoria, grow out of it (i.e., they no longer feel that way) and end up being gay, lesbian, or bisexual adults without transitioning. 

Also, I’ve heard from an awful lot of people who identified as trans originally because they couldn’t cope with thinking of themselves as gay or lesbian–especially women. It was much easier for them to see themselves as straight men. It’s well known that most girls/women who transition start out living as lesbians. And most detransitioned women seem to “come back home” to being lesbian, too–but they can speak to that much better than I can.

I posted a question last month, asking how much pressure girls/women feel to transition. Most responders were lesbian women who had been repeatedly encouraged to transition, particularly if they are more butch. So there’s that.
