A compilation of things I wish my therapist had said to me while I was pursuing medical transition. Unfortunately the text came out tiny when I scanned it, but should still be readable if you zoom in.

This could be trauma. Women feel this way too. Stop running from yourself. THERE ARE OTHER WAYS.
4 words x 4. Succinct, powerful, useful. Could be the 4 words that unlock the pain, that allow a teen to feel ok in her body, to grow up unencumbered by self hate. Yet every institution in Western society–the law, the media, medicine, mental health, the school system–all of them want to label these words “conversion therapy.” They want to outlaw the 4 words. They want to silence every doubt.
@transactive, what say you to Cari and women like her, whom you hurried along the transition highway? What do you owe the girls who changed their minds, who were only trying to decipher their own pain?
